Meet Maura
Led by Maura Whalen, Casablanca Floral is a boutique floral design studio located in Seattle, Washington.
Maura adheres to a “slow flowers” ethic as much as possible while still meeting customer needs. That means sourcing locally to support the flower-growing community and reduce her carbon footprint. She is an avid gardener who grows many of the seasonal blooms used in spring, summer, and fall arrangements - those blooms are not sitting in a warehouse before being delivered to you! Her vast network of local flower farmer friends supplements what her gardens cannot supply.
Maura fondly traces her passion for flowers to her Italian grandmother, Flora, (yes, that was actually her name!) in whose garden she used to play.
An avid gardener and homemaker, Maura delights in setting an elegant, al fresco table for friends and family - highlighted, of course, with arrangements from her ever-blooming gardens.
Grown & sourced with care
Maura is an avid gardener who grows many seasonal blooms in her personal gardens. Her vast network of local flower farmers supplements what her gardens do not and her enthusiastic flower friends near and far all share gardening and design tips not to mention able hands when an event calls for more than Maura can manage solo.
Meeting or superseding customers’ floral desires while educating them about what’s in season is at the forefront of CF’s design process.
The Studio
The Casablanca Studio is where the floral art and class magic happens!
When Maura isn’t in her gardens, you’ll likely find her here. The studio space is blessed with ample light, salvaged fixtures, and a “Paris meets Brooklyn” vibe that brings out Maura’s creativity. Additionally, it is where Maura hosts most of her classes.
Want to create in this dreamy floral studio yourself? Sign up for a class or contact Maura about planning a class with a group of your friends or colleagues.
